BLAIR TO PRESS BUSH ON IRAQ & ISRAEL
Agenda: Divide Israel, Let U.N. Oversee Iraq Reconstruction
"When I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather
all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There
I will enter into judgment against them concerning my inheritance, my
people Israel, for they scattered my people among the nations and
divided up my land... (Joel 3:1-4).
British Prime Minister Tony Blair will join President Bush at Camp
David for two days of talks beginning this evening. Chief items on
the agenda are the post-war establishment of a Palestinian State and
Blair's wish that the U.N. and not the Coalition nations be the ones
to plan and execute Iraq's reconstruction.
-Blair is still under political pressure at home. Until a few days
ago, a majority of Brits opposed his pro-war stance. Yet, Blair has
stood courageously with the U.S. and President George Bush.
-Blair wants Bush to forget all differences with France and Germany
and to include them as partners in the effort to rebuild Iraq - under
U.N. auspices. The nations most opposed to U.S. military action
in Iraq (the French, Russians, Germans and the Arab nations) are
now the most determined to influence post-war Iraq.
-Blair has publicly expressed the "need" for the U.S. to pressure
Israel to create a Palestinian State shortly after the war with
Iraq is completed.
Would not our pandering to the U.N. be a desecration of the lives
of our young men who spilled their blood on the Iraqi battlefield?
Once we win the war against Saddam Hussein, who swore to destroy
Israel, will we now champion the violent Palestinians who danced
in the streets on September 11, 2001? Will we liberate Iraq only
to defy the God of the Bible by forcing Israel to divide their land
among their violent enemies?
God knows our hearts and plans. Will Almighty God bless us so
that we can defy Him even more?
Please Join Us in pleading to God:
--Father, HELP us to stand for RIGHTEOUSNESS, even if every world
nation opposes us. HELP us STAND by tiny Israel as the nations of
the World, driven by irrational hatred, gather against it.
--Grant the President Wisdom, Understanding & Courage to do Your
will. In Jesus Name, Amen (1 Kg 3:7-12; 28; 4:30-31; Joel 3:1ff;
Zech 12:1-10)
