ONE MILLION HEARTS IN PRAYER FOR AMERICA (PART I)
This is the first of a two-part special edition of "Falwell Confidential." Part II of this series will be sent out Friday, March 28.
On March 30, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln signed a proclamation appointing a National Day of Prayer in America. This prayer decree came at the height of the Civil War, with thousands of American soldiers from the North and South already dead and no end to the bloody conflict in sight. Mr. Lincoln's resolution entreated Americans to "rest humbly in the hope authorized by the Divine teachings, that the united cry of the Nation will be heard on high ...."
Our nation once again finds itself in the midst of military conflict, our service members placing their lives on the line for the cause of liberty.
It is therefore time for Americans - in the tradition created by Abraham Lincoln and other presidents who understood the value of beseeching God - to join together as a PRAYER FORCE for our nation.
I am seeking to enlist at least one million Prayer Warriors (Pray for America) who will enlist in this PRAYER FORCE with me in order to fervently and recurrently pray for seven crucial things. Let us pray for:
1. wisdom and guidance for President Bush and his administration during this fateful time.
2. the protection of our military personnel who are at conflict in Iraq.
3. the safe return of those military personnel who are missing in action.
4. the families of those who have been killed in action.
5. victory over the unregenerate Saddam Hussein (if he still lives) and his vicious followers and the establishment of a viable government in Iraq.
6. the safekeeping of our nation against the forces of terror who seek to do us harm.
7. a spiritual reawakening in America.
While the peaceniks and Hollywood leftists cry out for "peace" - not freedom or liberty - at all costs, President Bush is boldly directing America in the pursuit of the liberation of Iraq.
This is an honorable pursuit.
President Woodrow Wilson said, "No man can sit down and withhold his hands from the warfare against wrong and get peace from his acquiescence." The left will never understand this. That's why in San Francisco last week protesters raised signs reading, "We Support Our Troops When They Shoot Their Officers."
Their hatred for America is astounding.
While the left directs its hysterical verbal assaults on Mr. Bush, conservative people of faith must vocally support him. The most effective way to do so is through our prayers. We know that President Bush treasures the prayers of the American people. He recently said, "It's a humbling experience to think that people I will never meet have lifted me and my family up in prayer."
It is a joy to pray for a man who appreciates and reveres those prayers. This is a key reason that I want to compile a list of one million people who will pray for President Bush, our troops in Iraq and the safety of our nation. Will you please join with me in this effort?

BLAIR TO PRESS BUSH ON IRAQ & ISRAEL
Agenda: Divide Israel, Let U.N. Oversee Iraq Reconstruction
"When I restore the fortunes of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather
all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There
I will enter into judgment against them concerning my inheritance, my
people Israel, for they scattered my people among the nations and
divided up my land... (Joel 3:1-4).
British Prime Minister Tony Blair will join President Bush at Camp
David for two days of talks beginning this evening. Chief items on
the agenda are the post-war establishment of a Palestinian State and
Blair's wish that the U.N. and not the Coalition nations be the ones
to plan and execute Iraq's reconstruction.
-Blair is still under political pressure at home. Until a few days
ago, a majority of Brits opposed his pro-war stance. Yet, Blair has
stood courageously with the U.S. and President George Bush.
-Blair wants Bush to forget all differences with France and Germany
and to include them as partners in the effort to rebuild Iraq - under
U.N. auspices. The nations most opposed to U.S. military action
in Iraq (the French, Russians, Germans and the Arab nations) are
now the most determined to influence post-war Iraq.
-Blair has publicly expressed the "need" for the U.S. to pressure
Israel to create a Palestinian State shortly after the war with
Iraq is completed.
Would not our pandering to the U.N. be a desecration of the lives
of our young men who spilled their blood on the Iraqi battlefield?
Once we win the war against Saddam Hussein, who swore to destroy
Israel, will we now champion the violent Palestinians who danced
in the streets on September 11, 2001? Will we liberate Iraq only
to defy the God of the Bible by forcing Israel to divide their land
among their violent enemies?
God knows our hearts and plans. Will Almighty God bless us so
that we can defy Him even more?

--Father, HELP us to stand for RIGHTEOUSNESS, even if every world
nation opposes us. HELP us STAND by tiny Israel as the nations of
the World, driven by irrational hatred, gather against it.
--Grant the President Wisdom, Understanding & Courage to do Your

EXTREMELY URGENT!
WILL SUPREMES LEGALIZE SODOMY?
Landmark “Gay” Rights Case Will Be Heard TODAY!
Do not defile yourselves [with homosexuality & other perverse sexual
practices], because this is how the nations that I am going to drive
out before you became defiled… (Lev 18:22-26).
The U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments over Lawrence v. Texas
this morning, March 26, 2003. This landmark case could result in the
imposition of homosexual rights upon the states in the same way that
Roe v. Wade imposed abortion rights upon them in 1973. The justices
will consider the oral arguments and issue their ruling this summer.
--In 1998 Houston police, responding to a call about a dangerous
gunman, burst into an apartment only to find two men engaged in a
homosexual act. They were charged with violating a Texas law outlawing
homosexual conduct, confined overnight and fined $200. They appealed
their case, charging that the law was unconstitutional.
--The arguments presented today will deal with whether the Texas
sodomy law violates the U.S. Constitution and the equal protection
and privacy rights of homosexuals.
--Opponents say that the “right to privacy” is among the “most
fundamental of rights guaranteed in the Constitution”.
--Every state had anti-sodomy laws just a few years ago. Now,
twenty-six states and the District of Columbia have repealed their
laws and nine states have had their laws stricken down by the courts.
Sixteen states and Puerto Rico still have sodomy laws in force.
--This important case has been overlooked or underestimated by most
Christians. Not only could it strike down every sodomy law that
remains in America. It could pave the way for homosexual marriage
in every state.
Through prayer, we must now succeed in obtaining God’s intervention
lest Roe v. Wade and Lawrence v. Texas be remembered as the decisions
that precipitated America’s final destruction.
While the Iraq war is on everyone’s mind, but we must make this a
matter for prayer, too. Please forward this to all your praying
Christian friends. Ask them to join us in prayer.

Sitting here watching reporters riding along with the infantry, and seeing the missiles explode, within seconds of when it happened, then hearing the news reporter explain what was hit; watching the computer-enhanced satellite images of Baghdad showing which buildings are being "taken out:"
1. Who would have ever even dreamed that we would one day sit in the comfort of our home/business and watch a war the way we would watch a movie! I was hungry, but it somehow seemed almost immoral to eat at a time like that.
2. Who would have ever imagined how it would have been possible for the fantastic claim of Revelation 11, where it speaks of the whole world watching the two prophets of God rise from the dead? That someone should revive seemed believable, but how would it be possible for the entire world to see it happen? Well, now we know!
And WE in broadcasting are helping to fulfill God's plan for the ages!
Awesome, isn't it?

THE DISINGENUOUS VOICES OF THE LEFT
Wednesday night's surgical strike on Iraq was an opening broadside against Saddam Hussein, a foretaste of the all-out air and ground offensive to come.
Meanwhile, here at home, while many Americans pray for the troops and President Bush, anti-American voices continue to assail the president and his effort to bring peace and freedom to Iraq.
The recent verbal assault on President Bush by radical Hollywood mouthpieces, leftist college professors and liberal lawmakers is doing great damage to America.
While its trendy in these circles to mouth off against President Bush and traditional American values, one member of this community recently discovered that there can be a swift backlash when one chooses to take cruel potshots at President Bush.
When Natalie Maines of the Dixie Chicks told a London audience that she was ashamed that President Bush was from Texas, country music fans from coast to coast quickly vowed never again to purchase Dixie Chicks records or to listen to radio stations that play their songs. The Chicks went from top of the charts to bottom of the barrel in the minds of many music lovers.
While Ms. Maines has every right to voice her opinions (but notice she didn't make her spiteful comments here in the U.S.), she has learned that the American people will also embrace the right to voice their loathing of her words by abandoning their support of her band. (Ms. Maines later attempted a pseudo apology for her words, but the damage had been permanently done.)
There is a handful of powerful Hollywood organizers in our nation who can be counted on to spew out anti-American, anti-Bush fervor. They include: Martin Sheen, the spelling-challenged Barbra Streisand, Alec Baldwin, Susan Sarandon and a few others. The majority of Hollywood follows blindly because they see it is fashionable.
Listen to what a few of them are saying.
Tom Robbins, author of "Jitterbug Perfume" and "Even Cowgirls Get The Blues," said: "Quite probably the worst thing about the inevitable and totally unjustifiable war with Iraq is that there's no chance the United States will lose."
At a recent concert, The Pretenders lead singer Chrissy Hynde said: "Have we gone to war yet? We [expletive] deserve to get bombed. Bring it on!" Later, she added, "I hope the Muslims win!"
Conservative columnist Laura Ingraham responded: "It's easy to write off much of what comes out of the mouths of Hollywood leftists. They repay the country that made their wealth and privilege possible by trashing her traditions and institutions. They side with countries that resent us, and trust dictators like Saddam or Fidel more than the American voters or the president they elected."
This sentiment is not limited to the entertainment industry, though.
Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle also recently launched a choreographed attack on President Bush's Iraq policy. But it backfired on him.
Consider this: During the Clinton Administration, Sen. Daschle lobbied for a congressional resolution to take "all necessary measures" to respond to the Iraqi threat. "We have exhausted, virtually, our diplomatic effort to get the Iraqis to comply with their own agreements and with international law," Mr. Daschle said. "Given that, what other option is there but to force them to do so?"
However, now that President Bush works in the Oval Office, Mr. Daschle's values have peculiarly changed. He recently accused President Bush of "fail(ing) so miserably at diplomacy that we're now forced to war." He actually suggested that Mr. Bush should be blamed for any deaths of U.S. soldiers, asserting that he's "saddened that we have to give up one life because this president couldn't create the kind of diplomatic effort that was so critical for our country."
It is apparent that hatred of President Bush is behind Mr. Daschle's political gamesmanship. I believe Americans are tired of these perilous political games, especially when they come at a critical point in our nation's history.
"The bottom line," said Gary Bauer, "is that Sen. Daschle prefers the foreign policy of France, which seeks to tie America in knots, versus the foreign policy of America, which seeks to eliminate a brutal dictator."
Shame on Tom Daschle for playing crude political games while American men and women are laying their lives on the line in Iraq to advance the cause of freedom. And shame on Hollywood liberals, militant academics and other so-called peace lovers who have taken to the streets to oppose war in Iraq, while not long ago they were sitting on their hands while Bill Clinton was launching military actions - without U.N. approval.
The dishonesty of these people is astounding.

It's time that lovers of Judeo-Christian values stand up and be heard.
LADY FLAMES TAKE ON VANDERBILT
On Saturday, March 22 (1:30 p.m., ET), Liberty University's women's basketball team will play Vanderbilt University in first-round NCAA Tournament action at Old Dominion University's Convocation Center in Norfolk, Va.
The Lady Flames reached the tournament after winning a record seventh-straight Big South Conference Tournament. As they enter the tournament, the team is ranked 25th in the nation by the USA Today/ESPN/WBCA Coaches Poll.
Coach Carey Green's team is led by Big South All Conference First Team members Katie Feenstra (whose 68 blocked shots is among the nation's leaders) and Kristal Tharp (who made 39 percent of her three-point shots this year).
The team is comprised of dynamic Christian girls (they will be traveling to Puerto Rico on a missions trip this summer) who will be seeking their first-ever NCAA Tournament victory.

WAR WITH IRAQ: Part #6
Civil Government as God’s Sword
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no
power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever
therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God... For he
is the minister of God to you for good…he bears not the sword in
vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath
upon him that does evil... (Rom 13:1-5).
With diplomacy having proved fruitless, the U.S. is now at war with
Saddam Hussein and his wicked regime. Thousands of Islamists across
the globe have pledged with Saddam to strike against Americans,
Christians and Jews “on the ground, at sea and in the air” as part
of a larger Jihad. Anti-war, anti-Bush Americans shamelessly rail
against the President as fervently as the French, Iraqis and Islamists.
Yet, President Bush and Congress have steadfastly fulfilled the
unpopular role Scripture teaches God has given them.
--God Ordained Civil Government & Use of The Sword – God anoints
civil governors to use the power of the sword to accomplish the
righteous purposes. Christians should uphold their leaders and
pray that they wield that power with wisdom and success.
--Protection – Calvin wrote, “the Lord has designed [government] to
provide for the tranquility of the good, and to restrain the
waywardness of the wicked; by which two things the safety of mankind
is secured: for except the fury of the wicked be resisted, and the
innocent be protected from their violence, all things would come to
an entire confusion… this is the only remedy by which mankind can
be preserved from destruction [if we fail to support government’s
righteous use of the sword] we avow ourselves as the public enemies
of the human race (Calvin’s Commentary: Romans 13).
--Justice – Earthly authorities are the agents of God’s wrath. Even
“a wicked prince is the Lord’s scourge to punish the sins of the
people… [But] the well ordered administration of a commonwealth
[will effect] rewards for the good, and punishment for the
wicked … [It is by] Divine goodness [that men] are defended by the
sword of princes against injuries done by the wicked” (ibid.).
--The Sword Must Not Be Born in Vain – “They… are armed with the
sword, not for an empty show, but that they may smite evil-doers…
whenever he visits the guilty with death, by executing God’s vengeance,
he obeys His commands. Contend then do they with God who think it
unlawful to shed the blood of wicked men. (ibid.).” Ambrose, Aquinas,
Calvin taught that for the civil authorities charged with the
public safety, ineffective use of the sword was just as wicked as
its unrestrained use.
Calvin taught that God’s wrath could be understood only when it is
intermingled with His love, justice and mercy. America’s Christian
roots, despite our current backslidden condition, have remarkably
taught our attitude toward national defense and war. Our philosophy
and methodology of precision warfare, kindness toward our enemies,
efforts to protect non-combatants, determination to maintain
discipline among our troops, etc. may model a Biblical view of
warfare more perfectly than any nation in world history. For this
we should be deeply thankful!

-Heavenly Father, TURN America in REPENTANCE to You (Joel 2:15-20).
-WIELD our Troops as Instruments of Your WRATH & MERCY. PROTECT them
& MINIMIZE the loss of innocent life! (Is 54:16-17; Hab 3:2;

-ANOINT those You ordained to Protect us at home and abroad. STOP
the terrorist horde & OPEN the Muslim World to the Gospel. In Jesus’
